You could have a go at announcing a train. Photo PKP
For the third year running PKP are holding their Dni Techniki Kolejowej, literally ‘railway technology days’, but a better translation which conveys the spirit of the venture would be ‘railway open days’. The two days in question are 5 and 6 June. So, although the ‘Open Days’ started on Friday it is still not too late to take pay a visit. Special events are taking place in 20 Polish cities. There were supposed to be 22, but Czestochowa and Walbrych have inexplicably dropped out.
Depending where you are, you can drive an electric train simulator, visit a signal box or even have a go at announcing the arrival of a train. There will be lots of rolling stock on display. So if you live near any of these places grab the kids and have a great train out.

Oh, and if you do go, please take some photographs and share them and your experiences with the rest of us!
